Nightlife in alternative spaces has always been inherently anti capitalistic and political. Photographing these spaces needs to be navigated with a certain care and ethics that veer away from a vaulturistic or a fetishestic gaze. These photos are meant to capture the essence of joy that comes from using your body as a tool of fun that doesn't serve any capitalistic purpose. Dancing for the sake of dancing; pure joy. The visuals are also intended to predominantly have unidentifiable subjects to avoid any discomfort and maintaining the space as a safe space where the expression of dance can remain intact without worrying if youre being watched or photographed. All subject who are identifiable were asked for consent prior to the photos being captured.
